What's New? Archive Section
On June 23, 2008 there was a substantial re-structuring of the website. As part of that re-structuring, it was decided to archive the What's New section and start fresh from the newly re-structured website. Below are all entries that have been made in this section since this page, "What's New?" was introduced on January 16, 2007.
6/23/08--there has been considerable restructuring of the WASCA website. That entry in this page will start a new What's New page. Older material will be archived. This will be done by 6/25/08.

The WASCA Spring Festival Registration and Housing Reservation Form web page (click for web page) has been changed to show contact information for the new chairpersons for the 50th WASCA Spring Festival. The Form itself is correct as shown. Also, the page showed an incorrect amount for the Housing Deposit. Since that has changed and may change again in the future, the required amount for the Housing Deposit will be shown only on the Form for the particular festival to avoid confusion.

A new revision to the upcoming 49th Spring Festival has been uploaded. Click 49th Festival Schedule. The Callers Clinic on Thursday from 9 to 10 am has been moved from the Beech Hall to the non-dancing hall side of Lakeside|Room, Retreat Center. Also, the Clogging Exhibition and Fun Dance on Saturday from 7 to 8:45 pm was moved from the Great Hall to a larger space, Upper Foyer.

Accelerated Learning Programs! Two different new ALP sessions have been set up by clubs.
Spend a weekend on February 15 and 16 in Martinsburg, WV learning to square dance with the Panhandlers. Price of $25 per person includes snacks, lunch and pot luck dinner. Click ALP Sessions Table.

Change of day and time effective January 2008
The WASCA club Ocean Waves will change both the day they dance and the time of the dance. It has been the 3rd Sunday from 6:00 to 8:30. In January it will be changed to the 3rd Saturday of the month from 8:00 to 10:30. The dance location will continue to be the Mid-Shore Family YMCA.

Revised website Alphabetical Listing based upon new Calls 'n' Cues Centerfold. Changed phone contacts for 2 clubs. Changed e-mail format in the listing for all WASCA Clubs to format of WASCAClubName@wascaclubs.com. However, because e-mail programs do not recognize either punctuation or special characters such as "&", the e-mail address in some cases is slightly different than the club's name--look carefully before sending. The Alphabetical Listing was also re-formatted to make it more readable--each club now has its own block with no lines within that club's block.

Posted Revision 8 to Program Schedule for Upcoming WASCA 48th Spring Festival, March 15-17 2007. There were several changes:
Thursday night, Mar 15, Beech Room, 9-10 pm--2x2 was eliminated from this time frame because few youth are there on Thursday night because it is a school night. This necessitated a change in the caller so that the caller involved would not be scheduled to call 3 straight hours in a row.
Friday night, Mar 16, Plaza A,B&C, 11 pm--The description was expanded to more appropriately describe everything that is going on during that time frame such as Great Movie Trivia Game & Variety Show, Funny Skits, Movie Clips, prizes and door prizes galore!
Friday night, Mar 16, Beech Room, 10 pm--The words "Family Hour" was added to this time frame to encourage parents/family to come and dance in the Youth Hall with their Youth.
Format changed to only higher resolution PDF files for clearer screen image and clearer print than lower resolution PDF files, which have been removed from the website.

Added link to video clip of local TV from Channel 5 Fox Morning feature show "Holly Morris Live!" on Square Dancing. Watch Butch Adams call squares dancing to "Mission Impossible". Submitted by Lisa Alfred who noted that "...the Kettle children got up at 3 a.m. to make the trip to Alexandria to promote square dancing." Now, that's dedication!

Added Bloxom's Bunch to "Alphabetical Listing" page under "WASCA Member Clubs" menu heading and "Monday Clubs" page under "When Do WASCA Clubs Dance?" menu heading. Had been inadvertently omitted in both places.
Revised all clubs pages to show "NA" for Not Applicable, under Caller, Cuer or both, as appropriate, to make it clear that information has not been simply omitted under those columns.

WASCA and member clubs supported the annual NBC 4 Annual Health and Fitness Expo in Washington, D.C. on January 13 and 14, 2007. Click Dancing in the News.
Moved events that have already occurred from the current WASCA Calendar of Events to Archived Events. Since most events are repeat events archiving of the events of the first year will provide users a pattern of events for planning purposes.
