Welcome to WASCA!

Hello, dancer!  Trying to get started square dancing or round dancing in the Washington, D.C. metro area?  You have come to the right place!  You can find out when and where you can dance as well as contact information for the region's clubs and events.

WASCA is the Washington Area Square Dancers Cooperative Association (WASCA).  The term "square dance" as used within WASCA is inclusive rather than exclusive.  Square dance is used in the broader sense to include Modern Western Square Dance (MWSD), round dance, clogging, and contra as well as a form called Traditional Square Dance that is danced by one WASCA member club.  The goal of WASCA is to provide a forum for all of those dancers to gather in the common interest of the celebration of dancing.

The underlying principle of WASCA is the enjoyment of dancing in an atmosphere of friendship.  This website is provided as a public service to assist square, round and other dancers in finding resources to enable them to do just that.  On this website you will find a description of the WASCA organization; events where you can dance, such as the WASCA Spring Festival; member clubs where you can dance; other events where you can dance; dance lessons; and links to additional dance resources.  You will see each of these topics as menu items on the left side of the screen.

This website was built by dancers for dancers and is sponsored by WASCA.  Our heartfelt wish for you is that--"We hope you dance!"
