CALLS 'N' CUES

PLEASE NOTE CHANGES IN COPY DEADLINE BELOW--effective November 19, 2006

Calls 'n' Cues is published September through June as a non-profit information service of the Washington Area Square Dancers Cooperative Association.  Subscriptions and advertising are intended to cover postage and defray costs.  The WASCA Board determines the standards for articles accepted for publication.  Opinions expressed in Calls 'n'Cues do not necessarily reflect WASCA policy.  Member Clubs in good standing can publish Club news of special dances and events in the Calendar of Events section at no cost.  The Club Directory (centerfold) is very important in providing accurate and current Club information and should be updated as changes occur, and at least annually.  Click on Calls 'n' Cues Contact Information for specific contact information for the Editor or the Subscriptions Director. 

WASCA encourages all dancers to subscribe to Calls 'n' Cues for WASCA Club information and special dances in the area.  The subscription rate is $15.00 per year or $30.00 for 2 years.  Click on How to Subscribe for mailing instructions and a link to the subscription form. 

WASCA also encourages all Clubs to write and submit articles and pictures for publication about Club events, special area square dance events, etc.  All letters and articles published must be signed.  Each Club should assign one Member to be a Calls 'n' Cues reporter for that Club to write about their Club news for the month.  One column per Club per month is allowed.  Clubs should send in their dance schedule at the beginning of the year (with dates, locations, times & themes) and changes throughout the year for inclusions in the "Calendar of Events."  Clubs should also send in their members' birthdays and anniversaries at the beginning of the year for the whole year so that they can be published monthly.

COPY DEADLINE:  Editor must receive all input (copy, pictures, and camera-ready ads) normally by the 25th day of the month two (2) months prior to the month of publication for every month.  An exception is the deadline for the January, February, and April issues when input is due by the 23rd day of the month two months prior to publication.  Please remember--when sending by regular mail send 5 to 7 days before the deadline to allow for time in the postal system.
